What a data broker removal request contains, and what happens after it is sent

How My Rightful Data sends a removal request to a data broker on your behalf, what the request carries, why each broker answers in its own time, and how the dashboard shows where every request stands. Published October 19, 2026 by Global Vibing.

Who the brokers are

A data broker is a company that gathers personal information from public records, purchases and websites, assembles it into a profile, and sells access to that profile. Most people never hear a broker’s name, which is why removal is work: there are many of them, each with its own form, its own address and its own schedule.

My Rightful Data keeps a list of them. From your dashboard you choose which brokers to contact; nothing is sent to a broker you did not pick.

What the request carries

A removal request has to identify you well enough for the broker to find and delete the right profile, so it carries the name, phone number and address you added to your profile, and your email address for the reply. It is sent through the broker’s own opt-out form or, where a broker takes requests only by email, by email.

The request asks for one thing: that the broker remove your information and stop selling it. It does not create an account with the broker and it does not share anything beyond what the request needs.

What happens after it is sent

Each broker decides how and when to act on a request, so no service can promise that every broker removes you, and My Rightful Data does not. What it does is keep the record: the brokers you asked it to contact, the requests it sent, and the responses that came back, each with its status on your dashboard.

Brokers also re-collect. A profile removed this year can reappear from a new public record next year, which is why removal is a standing task rather than a single event.

What My Rightful Data stores, and what it never does

The platform stores your account email; the name, phone number and address you add to your profile; the brokers you ask it to contact, the requests it sends them and their responses; and the technical records any website keeps (addresses, browser types, pages requested, errors). It never sells or shares your personal information on its own, and it sets no analytics cookies, advertising cookies or third-party trackers. My Rightful Data is one of Global Vibing’s separate platforms: it has its own database, its own sign-in and its own email sender, and an account here does not exist on any other Global Vibing platform.

What it costs

The consumer plan is priced on https://myrightfuldata.com/fair-pricing, where the figures are read from the billing code, so the price shown there is the price billed.
